Even then Lillian Coe, former secretary to Mrs. William Thaw, sought to evade direct questions of her mother. Finally, one week ago, when Lillian Coe collapsed in Court after testifying against, Dr. McFarland, others caring for Mrs. Coe revealed the truth about Elsie Coe's death.

Mrs. Coe, already critically sank rapidly. Friends despair of her recovery. Lillian Coe is said to be in a serious condition and is only a shadow Of her former self. She, bore up comparatively well until lane went on the stand, and immediately afterward collapsed and was hastened to her home.

The girl was bitter toward the pastor on the stand, and this strain and the shame of her sister, according to friends, has broken her spirit. Pittsburg, March 25.The three sons of Henry Phipps, John Henry and Howard Phipps, all of Nassau County, New York, were made wealthier by $10,000,000 Saturday, when their father divested himself of all his Pittsburg realty holdings in their favor. The gift includes the Fulton, Bessemer and Manufacturers' skyscrapers, the McElween Company's building, the Phipp's model' tenements on the North Side, other city properties not so well and two -farms in Allegheny County. Acording to the deed, which a repsententative of Andrew Carnegie's old-time partner recorded, the man whose numerous donations reach a high figure, accepted $1 for his Pittsburg real estate. The deed is an ordinary typewritten document, in which no space is wasted with recitals other than describing the properties. Nothing is said about how the three sons are to share in the ownership of property.

Henry Phipps and his wife, Mrs. Annie C. Phipps, signed and acknowledged the document In New 1 York City, the date in the transfer being March 12, 1912. Less than a month ago 'Mr. Phipps gave his "boys" $9,000,000 worth of Chicago real estate and neither the father nor the sons would comment upon that gift, which, according to a friend, was to relieve the parent Iof much work and worry.
