Wednesday, on a charge filed in the humane office, for failure to provide tl for his child, the complaint filed by 'Dave Everhart, father of til girl. It I 1 'seems thstt since the birth of the child, it has been taken by the fat her and mother of the girl.

The moth- I er of the child applied for a divorce and it was obtained, and she ha9 since re-married. The custody of the child was not given to either the mother or the father. A case as to the custody of the child is now pending in the Highland county court. Sufficient evidence was produced to show that the father of the child had paid to the mayor of Greenfield for its support. The complaint stated that Edington bad not supported the child since the first of June.

Evidence produced by his attorney, Air. Hatmaker, shows that since the 1 31st of December, 1913, up to the 1 present time, has been paid in for the support of the child. This 1 makes $6 a month or more for the 1 I support of the child, who is four I years old. A statement from the mayor of Greenfield shows that 841 lhas been paid for the support of the child and the remaining amount used for attorney fees in the interests of the mother and not the child. Mayor Cahill said that the evidence was sufficient to show that Edington was doing his part in supporting the and, and therefore continued the case indefinitely, until the custody of the child was given.

In the meantime Edington's attorney was instructed to have the mayor of Greenfield pay over to Officer Hamm of the Humane Society, the balance of the sum, and then to pay the local society the sum of $1.50 a week for the support of the child. He was given the suspended fine of the costs. li KM Oars Show the Lowest 1Cost of Upkeep Among American Cars 5-Pass. Car electrieally equipped, $850. Luxurious car electrically equipped, $995.
