Kaufman was born March 8, 1890, in Ross County to Phillip M. and Susie Brust Kinnamon. On Sept. 11, 1919, she married Robert E. Kaufman who died October 14, 1959.

Surviving are three daughters, Katherine E. McCoy, Dorothy E. McCoy, both of Chillicothe; Mrs. Clarence (Virginia) Frey, Pleasant Valley; five grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren, one great great grandson, one niece. Mrs.

Kaufman was the oldest member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, long time member and past president of Suburban Garden Club. Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Ware Funeral Home with the Rev. David Titler officiating. Burial Greenlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call at Ware's 5-8 p.m. Tuesday. Geraldine Brownfield Geraldine Brownfield, 71, of 415 Third Piketon, died at 3:25 a.m. March 8 in Ross County Medical Center. She was born May 13, 1910 in Adams County to James and Frances Shaw Meeker who are deceased.

She was the widow of Dewey Brownfield who died in 1976. Surviving are eight sons, James and Glen, both of Chillicothe; Gary, Waverly; Joe, Kenneth, Steve, Tom and Ronald, all of Piketon; nine daughters, Juanita Liebe, Wanda Crabtree and Judith Beatrice F. Bietzel Mrs. Beatrice F. Bietzel, 79, formerly of East Second Street and Heartland Nursing Home, died 8:34 p.m.

Saturday in Medical Center Hospital after an extended illness. She was the widow of John A. Bietzel who died Feb. 1 18, 1967. Her funeral will be 11 a.m.

She had been spending the winter in Florida. Mrs. Ashmore was born Sept. 28, 1903, in Monson, Mass. to C.

Ralph and Rosa M. Holden LeGro. On July 29, 1920, she married Buell L. Ashmore, M.D, who died July 22, 1977. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs.

(Virginia) Fuller, Chillicothe; seven grandchildren, John Wilkins, Newport Beach, Mrs. David (Leslee) Miraldi, Elyria, Ralph Fuller, Miami, Donna, Frank, and Christi Fuller of Chillicothe, Ginger Fuller, Ohio St. University; one great-grand child, Virginia Anne Miraldi; three sisters, Arlene Powers, Mrs. John (Mary) 2, McArthur, died Sunday in Hospital.

James H. Walker James H. Walker, 79, 190 S. Walnut died 10:55 a.m. March 6 at Medical Center Hospital.

Mr. Walker was born Sept. 12, 1902, in Nashville, to the late John and Levinia Maughmer Walker. On Aug. 18, 1926 he married the former Virginia (Jean) Ransom who died Sept.

11, 1980. Surviving are four nephews, James E. and Charles E. Rhodes, both of Columbus, Morris L. Rhodes, Bellevue, Cecil A.

A.M. and Grand Tuesday service set for Ayn Rand Associated Press NEW YORK Services will be held Tuesday for novelist Ayn Rand, who in her novels "The Fountainhead" and "Atlas Shrugged," extolled selfishness as the ultimate virtue and advocated boundless individualism and capitalism. Miss Rand, who died Saturday of natural causes at her Manhattan home at age 77, once said, "My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity and reason as his only absolute." Miss Rand was born in Russia in 1905 and graduated from the University of Leningrad in 1924. Two years later she came to the United States, where she worked in Hollywood as an extra and screenwriter.

She married Charles Francis O'Connor, an artist, in 1929. He died in 1979. After moving to New York she wrote screenplays for several studios.
